Love Her

I am not sure exactly when I took these pictures but they bring a smile to my face. We were having pizza one night (one that AJ helped me make) and AJ decided she wanted her picture taken. She just kept saying "cheese", "cheese". So I decided to pull out my phone and take some pictures. This little one has my whole heart and I love her to death.  

 

A Party Here

Addison has had a cold the last couple of days and has been teething so her sleep has been a little off. Normally she sleeps from 9 pm to 7:30 am but decided to wake up at 6 am today. She lounged around for a bit and then discovered a toy she hasn't seen in months. Her microphone! She quickly put on her glasses and started jamming out. I was watching a neighbors little girl this morning and Addison would sing into the mic and then hold it out for the l4 month old to sing into. We were having a party in our jammies at 7:00 o'clock this morning. What more could you ask for if you are going to be up that early.

 

A New Year, New Adventures

We went to our very first movie together as a family! We had been showing Addison the clip of "Let it Go" from Frozen, on YouTube, and she was loving it. So we decided to brave the idea of taking her to a theatre and she sat during 90% of the movie. The last ten minutes she stood up but she didn't want to leave. She did great. And she loved the movie so much that she cried when we left. We loved the movie and loved taking our little girl out with us. It is amazing to see how much she is growing up!

Summer

Well time seems to pass by so quickly and life happens fast when you have a kid. Our summer has been fun. I have so many pictures to share and after having my phone stolen with lots of pictures I will never get back, I decided I will not let my new pictures go to waste. 

To summarize our summer we have spent a lot of time playing in the water, playing with toys, and spending so much fun time with family and cousins. Can't wait to see what the rest of summer brings! 

February so far..

Brighton and I were able to go on a date. Dates are so far and few between that I love the moments we get to go. Brighton's dad gave us some Jazz tickets they weren't able to use and so we got an awesome babysitter (my sister) and away we went. It was fun and we enjoyed the time together.

Addison LOVES to play in the snow. I actually think that is an understatement. She cries every time I close the garage if we haven't gone outside first. And the only way I can get her to come in, is if her hands are freezing and she is crying "ow, ow, ow."

She loves to dig in it, eat it, climb all over it (because it is icy), and crunch through it. She has to come outside every time we shovel, and she knows where her gloves are and will start putting those on when she wants to go outside. She has such a personality!! 

 

We have been trying to keep ourselves busy with something other than tv so here is where we decided to have snack time.

 

Addison has learned how to take pictures on my phone and is learning how to do cheesy smiles.

Even though it was snowing like crazy one night, we went out and got ice cream. The lighting is funny because of the flash on my phone but it was fun and surprisingly really busy at Cold Stone.

The Rest of January

The rest of January passed with a lot of fun. Well most of it.

Both of Brighton's brothers were in town and we were lucky enough to be able to get his entire family together for a fun night at our house. We were lucky too because that night was one of the worst snow storm of the winter and some of the family live at least an hour away, without the snow.

 Since Addison's surgery she has had a whole new personality. She is more playful, laughs more, smiles more, and is just more lovable. I love it!!

She can now climb up onto anything and loves to climb up on the sink and spend time playing.

She likes to mimic anything we are doing and is picking up many new things

                                                

January ended on a slightly low note. Addison caught ANOTHER cold. I am ready for this cold season to be over. At least we have been lucky and haven't gotten the flu and this cold didn't end up with an ear infection. But Addison was MISERABLE and in turn, we were too. But she is better now and we are onto a new month. February!!!

New Year

So my blog has been neglected for months now. There are many reasons for that but really they shouldn't be considered excuses. 1st - I lost my camera with a whole bunch of pictures on it, 2nd - My computer died and I kept hoping we could fix it so I went without a computer for a month before giving in and buying a new one, and 3rd - Addison has been sick CONSTANTLY!! I don't know how other mothers do it but sick children are hard. Period.

Well it is a new year and things are looking up for us. I have a new camera (yay for Christmas), I have a new computer, and Addison got tubes put in her ears!!!! I was so happy when her pediatrician finally recommended tubes. After one ear infection after another I thought I was going to scream. Between her molars coming in (which took FOREVER) and all of the colds/ear infections I thought I was a goner. I can only imagine how Addison felt.

We went to ENT and Addison failed all of the ear tests. Which meant she couldn't  hear and she wasn't going to get better without tubes. So I signed her up for the first surgery date available.  

Addison was a trooper. She only whined when they put the ID wrist band on her. She loved all the toys, (I love Primary Childrens), all the other kids to play with, and didn't seem to mind that she was fasting (my biggest worry).

The surgery went fabulously and she came out of it so well. Se was a little groggy but only had one minor incident. After they let us go we went down to PCMC's cafeteria to get Brighton and I a little something to eat and while we were waiting in line Addison threw up all over the nurse in front of us. It was traumatizing, for me. Addison didn't seem to mind at all. We quickly got someone to clean it up, apologized to the nurse (who took it very well), cleaned up all our clothes and went on our way.

I am very happy to have that surgery over, happy to have Addison feeling better, and excited to see what the New Year brings!

3:30 AM

Dear Addison's Molars,

Can you please just come in already. After weeks and weeks of being up at night for hours and days with a constantly screaming child we would all appreciate if you just made your appearance already. Addison's gums have been swollen for awhile and all of our patience is wearing thin. I have now run out of Orajel, Ibuprofen, Tylenol and my patience is next. And if you could all show up at once that would be awesome. Please come in TODAY!!

Growing Up

I love this stage of life. Addison picks up so many new things and is learning how to do new things all the time. She likes to open and close doors, put things in containers and take things out, turn on and off lights, put on and off necklaces, turn on and off my computer (although I hate that one), unroll toilet paper, and many other things.

The newest thing she loves to do is pull things behind her. She would pull our shoes and diaper bag behind her everywhere so we decided to tie a rope onto a toy and see if she liked that. It was a great idea because it entertained her for hours! She dragged it everywhere and we have now since tied a rope onto many other things. 

 

I love how simple things make her so happy! 

Fun Times

This summer has been a crazy one with lots of new adventures. I am way behind on updating them all but I thought that I would at least get started by updating some of our fun times from today.

 

We got to go through the Brigham City Temple open house today. Addison did okay as long as we gave her fruit snacks and 3 fruit snacks later we made it out whole and that much more hopped up on sugar.  The temple was gorgeous and it was fun to learn a little bit more about Brigham City's heritage.

 

 We then headed down to the zoo for Brighton's work party and had such a fun time. Addison got her faced painted and LOVED it. We told the lady to give us the fastest face painting picture she could paint because we didn't know how long Addison would hold still. But she just sat there and at one point closed her eyes because she loved it so much.

 

After we got faces painted we went and saw all of the animals. The grizzly and polar bears were so active we spent most of our time there. No pictures to show because I was so distracted but trust me when I say they were. Our day was non-stop but fun and now our little one is zonked out and in bed. And I think that is where I am heading. Here is to a fun summer. (It is still summer in my mind.)
